A Spain residence permit renewal, also known as renovación del permiso de residencia, extends a non-EU employee residence authorisation (and their TIE card) before it expires. Under the 2025 reform (Real Decreto 1155/2024, in force since 20 May 2025), a renewed work and residence authorisation is now granted for four years up from two under the old rules and applications must be filed within the 60 days before expiry, or up to 90 days after (subject to a penalty procedure).
